Back to Work

Today Montie and Courtney both went to work. Montie went in to the ship yard for the first time today for a few hours. He had a chance to catch up with the staff and get a look at the boat. He worked a half day and then left to drive with the Chairman to take Courtney to Tianan.

Montie, Courtney, James (the chairman) and his daughter Maggie left this afternoon to head up to Tianan which is about 30 minutes north of Kaohsiung. The chairman’s wife owns a private school and Courtney is going to work at the school a few days each week teaching English. She will stay with the chairman’s family. I am eager to hear about her adventures!

Hello, I am replying to your blogs about your visit to Taipei. First off, I found them very amusing and they reminded me a lot of my stay in Czech Republic. Mainly because I didn’t speak a word of Czech! but anyways, I am going to be a foreign exchange student in Taiwan next year for a whole year (I am told I will be staying in an area near Taipei). I have no clue what to expect! I’ve never been to an oriental country, but I’m looking forward to the adventure. If there is anything you can suggest to bring or study (I was told they speak Taiwanese in Taiwan, or do they mostly speak a dialect of Chinese?) I would be much appreciative!
